Istanbul Hotel Nomade lies in the heart of Istanbul's old city. This delightful Inn have been totally ronovated for its 20th anniversary by French designer Dan Beranger.
Close to practically everywhere worth visiting in the old city, Hotel Nomade combines unpretentious hospitality with the buzz of interesting people of all nationalities.
The new building is renovated old Turkish house with an excellent terrace view to neighbouring sites such as St. Sophie, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, to name a few.
The rooms leave little to be desired for the fastidious & are charmingly decorated. Fluent French and English spoken here. With the best little neighbourhood cafe, a restored Byzantine cellar, just across the street.
“An Oasis in the bustle of Istanbul”
We absolutely loved the hotel and especially the terrace area with its view of the Haga Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Bospherous River. Very comfortable breakfast and lounging area, in particular at night. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
The staff was professional but friendly. There is a “hotel” cat that leaps from roof to roof and is sometimes on the terrace. He did not deign to pay any attention or bother the tourists.
The hotel has a real sense of place.
“Stylish, friendly boutique hotel in the heart of Istanbul.”
Great location, staff and rooms. Rooms can be a bit smaller but daily room service and breakfast makes it worth it. Plus an excellent, if not the best view, the Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque on the quite roof top terrace bar. Great resturants and food markets near by, you really can not beat the location. This family run hotel has a friendly very helpful staff avaliable at all times, airport pickup included. Definitly will return!
“I LOVE this hotel!!”
This is the 5th time I have stayed at the Nomade. It has a PERFECT location–steps from the Blue Mosque in the heart of the Sultanhamet. The terrace views on the top floor are amazing!! Breakfast is served on the terrace and cocktails in the evening. AND if you want…you can order dinner from several of the nearby restaurants and have it served on the terrace!
I am a tour director and when in Istanbul with groups–I stay at the Intercontinental. I MUCH prefer the charm, location, and coziness of the Nomade. And hope to go back soon!
“A small, friendly, family run hotel with charm and character.”
This hotel is in a great location very close to the Blue Mosque, shops, the Grand Bazzar and many diverse eating places. It is literally 30 yards from the tram transport system which connects you to the whole of Istanbul. The roof terrace bar has fantastic views over the Bospherous and a really friendly barman.
“Great Bar with views””
Even if you are not staying at this hotel we would recommend you visit the terrace bar. Sadat the barman is a great host who will give you all sorts of advice. The view over the Blue Mosque and down to the Bospherous are exceptional. it is very close to Sultanahmet tram stop.
Go there and you will not be disapointed. You can also order in food.
“Best Staff-Best Location”
Hotel Nomade is the best hotel I have ever stayed, mostly due to the staff. When traveling everyone expects friendly, courteous service but this staff went beyond. They were helpful and kind. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Istanbul. It is clean, updated and centrally located to everything. A tram stop is less than 1block away for very convenient transportation throughout the city. The roof top terrace view was spectacular and the breakfast was delicious. We will stay at this hotel again.
If you are visiting a city for the first time a hotel that is near the key historical sights would be beneficial. Also one that is easily reached from the airport helps. Well Nomade scores on both these points. A metro and tram journey to Sultanahmet and a walk of no more than a hundred metres brings you to a warm welcome and the view of the Blue Mosque from the roof terrace is nothing short of breathtaking. The rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast is just the energy fix that is needed for a day pounding the streets of this fascinating City. The nearby restaurants of Mosaik and Khorasani are excellent. In short, we really look forward to our return.
“Romantic and welcoming”
Spent two nights in the Hotel Nomade and had a wonderful stay. The locatiion is superb for doing the historic sites, the staff are great, the room was modern and comfortable, and there is a lovely roof-top bar. There are hundreds of restuarents within a few minutes walk.
If you are looking for a lovely, small romantic hotel with great staff this is the place.
“Nice hotel in great location”
A friend of mine booked me into the Nomade. I checked out the reviews and upon my arrival, most were correct. I found the hotel to be in a great location for the old city. Rooms were small, typical of European hotels along with the small bathroom. The rooms were very clean and the staff excellent. They offer an airport pickup for 25 euro. The breakfast, although lacking “bacon and eggs “, was very typical of other hotels I have stayed at in the area. Excellent roof top terrace!
“Home sweet home”
This is a small hotel with a view of Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque from its roof top Terrace, where a delicious, very extensive buffet breakfast is served daily. I stayed for two weeks in February and then returned for a month in April. The staff is excellent. Their knowledge of Turkey and its history and language, as well as the city, is impressive. And if they don t know, they will find out. Rooms are very clean, and nicely appointed. Each room has a tv and air conditioner, though I didn t use either. I can t wait to get back ‘home’ on my visit in the fall. (Thanks especially to Fatih, Yasin and Bulent.)
